About

Mare Karina is a gallery & cultural production studio. Our work combines international experience and networks with on-the-ground knowledge, built through an active role in Venice’s cultural ecosystem.

Founded by Marta Barina, Mare Karina began in 2020 as a nomadic project across London, Milan and Puglia, before establishing a permanent home in Venice in 2024. Before founding Mare Karina, Marta worked for over a decade in London across galleries and artists’ studios, including White Cube, David Zwirner and Oscar Murillo Studio, with experience spanning exhibitions, commissions, publications and international partnerships.

We present selected exhibitions and collaborations through our gallery in Venice, bringing together Italian and international artists, curators and audiences.

Studio

We work for curators, institutions, associations, artists, galleries and brands, on commissioned projects of varying scales: from early-stage development through production and delivery.
